Transitions
Finding peace and wonder in life’s transitions.
This morning, I noticed the last blooms of our Rose of Sharon fading and the first leaves starting to turn. Even the squirrels seemed to know—busy gathering nuts for Winter. We’d only been away a week, yet the deer had shed their light summer coats, now cloaked in warm, grayish-brown fur. In that quiet moment, I sensed the air shift—a soft, unmistakable whisper of Fall.
I have always loved the changing seasons—the beauty, even through the challenges, the reminders of life’s rhythm.
The trees will soon burst into vibrant Fall colors. Gorgeous, but then it’s time to rake…
Winter will blanket the earth in snow, protecting the life beneath. I love its sparkle—even though the icy paths make walking tricky and my hands freeze when I clear the car windshield.
As tiny crocuses and daffodils break through the frozen ground, Spring comes alive, and I feel renewed—though the not-so-peaceful buzz of lawnmowers is just around the corner…
Summer brings warmth, my garden in lush, full bloom, and time enjoyed with neighbors outside—though some days the heat and humidity send me indoors…
Like the seasons, our lives are always unfolding. We nurture new projects and watch them bloom—or fade on the vine, welcome new family and friends, or tearfully say goodbye. I enjoy the quiet, but I miss the lively energy of having children at home and treasure our visits. Each transition stretches us, teaches us, and often brings unexpected blessings.
It brings me peace to know that whatever is unfolding now—uncertainty, joy, sorrow, or challenge—is simply another season in life’s cycles, rich with its wisdom. Like nature, it will bloom, fade, and make way for the next. Life is a wondrous adventure and I’m learning to honor every moment of my journey.
Here’s to finding peace and a little magic in the twists and turns of your own seasons of change.
